Description

This 1923 Peace Dollar is a stunning gem example of America's silver dollar honoring the end of World War I. Anthony de Francisci's elegant design features Liberty wearing a radiant crown on the obverse, while the reverse depicts a bald eagle perched on a rock with rays of sunlight and the word PEACE below. At MS66, this coin displays exceptional satiny luster rolling across virtually mark-free surfaces, which is no small feat for these large silver dollars that typically show bag marks from storage and handling. The 1923 Philadelphia issue had a massive mintage of over 30 million, but finding one this well preserved in gem condition is genuinely challenging. This example comes in a PCGS Secure holder featuring the gold shield, which includes an encrypted security code for added authentication and anti-counterfeiting protection. A beautiful high-grade example of this classic 1920s design that still resonates with collectors a century later.
